Don- Have not heard a peep yet. However, I bet there are plenty of 1688s to be had at York[;)][:P][:o)][:o)] Also waiting for news of a “Kodak Moment” with Bunny Ears at the CTT Booth[;)][:D][:o)] Those Guys sure know how to have fun.[;)][:D] Take Care.

Good question. Want to know that too.

A Big Boy was on the shelf and still was tagged for a December delivery. No word on legacy and very little information on it. Rumor has it the engine on display did not even have a motor.

Keith - I walked the halls for 3 days and I don’t recall seeing any 1688’s. It is funny, in April I was looking for a #282 Gantry Crane and we saw very few of them. This time there were Lionel #282 Gantry Cranes all over the place, but they were pretty pricey (junkers for $175 and MIB up to about $425).

What??? No 1688s at York? I’ll have to turn Laz’s 800lb Bruin loose on the leadership of York.[;)][:D][:o)] This is Un-American not to have any 1688s at a Train Show.[:o)][:o)] [;)][;)] Even a Marxists like Groucho can appreciate a 1688s Looks,Build,Quality & running ability.[;)][:)] Take Care all.

Maybe all the good stuff is gone. Most of what I saw was in the junk catagory or else priced at 2-3 times what it can be bought for on ebay. Anyone else feel this way? I saw one 6419 priced at $95.00. Looked to me to be very good condition which Greenberg says is worth $25.00.

JELECTRIC, I agree with you alot of that stuff in the members halls is JUNK. It is all out dated and too much. Now I’m not dising anyone that likes that stuff, but when someone has a big price tag on an engine that is from a decent starter set and want $150 for it well you just keep on walken. Right or wrong my 2 cents.

Unless you are a true postwar collector and the item is mint in original box it is probably way overpriced. Even at that, the MOB stuff has some outrageous prices on a lot of it. The collector market is fading away, slowly but surely, as the hobby is now operator orientated and folk want the new stuff with all the whistles and bells. IMHO

Someone told me it had curtains instead of doors, whatever that means…???.. I was also told the delivery contract for Legacy to Lionel was October 31st and the Big Boy would come first with a certificate for a Legacy, expected on the shelves in first or second quarter of 2007…

Like everything else you hear at York this may or may not be true.
