Definitly a GE.
That pushed in nose, the pilot design as well as the angles of the cab’s roof are a dead giveway.
Personally I like the color, then again I like BNSF’s also. I’m guessing that it will be awhile before decals are available in that roadname.

Plenty of manufacturer’s make GEs. There are B30-7s, Dash 8s, Dash 9s, U boats, 44 Tonners, Genesis’s, almost every GE is out there in HO.
That green should be a bit brighter. It’s too bland the way it is.
Wel, personally, I like BNSF’s color schemes up until now, although I’m not wild about the new sheme coming out. I could do without the above example, however. A little to Mary Kay for me.

The NZ DX class is a GE export unit, a U26C. It is much, much smaller than any US locomotive. A reasonable model is made by Frateschi in Brazil, although it is a model of a smaller unit, a U22C intended for broad gauge, not narrow gauge, and the axle spacing on the truck is different. The model is not to HO scale, but runs on HO track. It would be close to Sn3-1/2, a scale used in NZ.
The Frateschi models are available in Auckland in a hobby shop near the old railway station - I bought one in black and yellow with “TR” lettering as a souvenir just over a year ago. Frateschi have a web site, too!

Thanx Peter, My LHS has those in stock here in Christchurch but, I was looking for HO products. I mite just stick to the original plan and go with those big American loco’s.
Those Frateschi Loco’s etc are very nice, I have the wooden old style passenger cars just lovely.

I agree with Big Boy eewww!!![:O][:O][:O][:O] I may even prefer the BNSF pumpkins mind you they would be hard to miss at a grade crossing which is likely the point. On the topic of fugly paint schemes the CN/CP centenial train in 1967 comes to mind F units and passenger cars in an awe inspiring purple and white with a snowflake like logo on the nose. CDS even made the decal set for a while if you are interested sorry I don’t have a picture to post but that’s a good thing cause it would likely hurt most computer screens. TB
