As a young modeler myself (16 years old) this is really an awesome idea! It shows how the hobby is being passed down to the new generation, including me.
This sounds like something I would really enjoy doing. Its a pity I’m too far away to go to the expo or I would be bringing my T-scale logging layout (Can’t drive when you’re 14.).
