Okay, many poll about favorite locomotives have been posted. But, what is your favorite steam locomotive name? Types like the names “berkshire”, “american”, or “cabforward”. Regardless of you admiring it or not, what do you think is the coolest name? [8D]
2-10-4 Texas!!!
class A
This is easy. The one that runs after breakin. The others get shoved to the sidetrack. Then i like to give it a number. My favorite number had my old house address.
Beyer-Garratt, because it is hyphenated, just like the locomotive.
Stephenson’s Rocket, because of the grandiose overstatement.
Crokodil, because it amuses me.
M-1,like the PRR had,heavy Mike,and six axle Alco are names I like the sound of.You guys have came up with some good quotes to go with your postings.Blazing Saddles is one of my favorite movies too.
“King” or “Castle”
– and please don’t ever refer to those 4 cylinder 4-6-0 speedsters as “ten wheelers” !!
Happy Xmas – everyone.
Espee AC Series Cabforewards…DM&IR Yellowstones…and the Clinchfield Challengers. Some notable ones i think are interesting are the Pennsy Q2 4-4-6-4s and the T and I-1s
The one that actually runs that day [:D][dinner][wow]
Happy Holidays Folks! [yeah]
4-8-8-4 Big Boy. [;)][(-D]
Hmmmm, 4884BigBoy - that’s surprising [:D]
I like the name Northern thus my favorite loco is the ATSF Northern 4-8-4 and the name of my layout is Double Six Northern.
I think some of you misunderstood what I mean. [%-)]
