Your Favorite Photo Of 2010

Ok, it’s that time again. Let the world see your favorite photo taken in the past year. It doesn’t have to be the best picture you’ve ever made, just your favorite of 2010. Mine is of a Southern Railway light mikado passing the section foremans house on Choctaw Ridge, somewhere in the southern Appalachian mountains in or around 1949.

Jarrell

A wonderful idea, Jarrell, and of course you put your best foto…er…foot forward. [:D] Very nice.

I also like the two that follow very much…this is going to be a superb thread.

Unfortunately, I really can’t choose between two, and so I must post them. If you like them both, you’ll hopefully understand.

I shot this while visiting Rob Carey’s outstanding Tennessee Pass layout in Portland, Oregon last spring. While the quality of the photo is marginal, the quality of the layout is among the best I’ve ever seen. I absolutely loved this scene which blends the Rio Grande main line with a small Rocky Mountain town. The layout was simply stunning.

Oh, I love threads like this. Nice pictures so far. I hope to see everyone participate.

Jarrel started with a great, tough-to-beat photo, and it was soon followed by other oustanding pictures.

Well, here is one of my favorites from my layout.

Outstanding photos, guys. I like this shot of K4s crossing Hammer Creek. DJ.

Well, you guys saw this photo last week, but it’s my favorite so far. Hopefully this year I’ll take one with a train in it!

Bachman 0n30 Hawthorne Vlilage 2-6-0 repainted a friend.

Nice work, all.

Geared Steam, I love the two truck shay.

This is probably my favorite from the year, PL&M 2-8-0 568 switching the Voytas Produce Company in Portsmouth, VA, in 1958.

Didn’t take many pics this year. Thispic means a lot to me, it is a model of the family farm I remember as a boy. The buildings are now all gone, but my brother lives on the property. I sent him this pic and he thought it was an old photo of the real thing. It evokes real memories for me.

Tough question.

Actually I had a tie but,I will post one.

I like this picture because it shows a C&HV GP9 making up its train in Slate Creek yard.

This was a temporary yard switching layout that was in fact the birth place of Slate Creek Industrial.Construction will commence next month on Slate Creek.A 1’X8’ ISL.

I would have to say this one is my fave for the year. I spent so much time on hard shell and basic infrastructure finishing this year that I didnt fire up the camera as much as I usually do.

Guy

That’s a hard question for me.

My latest::

VERY nice photos. MR should consider doing a pictorial of these in an upcoming issue.

Here’s mine called "Sunset in the Pass’:

This is my favorite of the new layout so far:

Jamie

I agree…Good idea, and great shots!!!

Since most of my pictures are of “weathering” I don’t have to many layout shots. Plus with the layout being back to step one, I DON’T have any layout shots [:(].

I did find a picture I like thou. I like it do to you can see this everyday. Just a few boxcars ready to get unloaded.

Great idea Jarrell! Here is mine:

It’s been up before, but again: The NB freight led by #721 is stopped so the engineer can grab a quick bite at the B&B Cafe, while the SB passenger #3 with USRA Pacific #300 slowly glides through town. (A slow order is in effect until the crossing gets more protection.)
