I Hope most of those who answer do model in their favorite scale, or at least that someday they do. Good Luck!![8D]
Yep, I model in HO, my favorite is HO. Union Pacific, 1940-1950 on a 5x8 or 6x8 layout. (haven’t started YET [;)])
HO they way to go, doing NS and CSX in the south current time.
Acutally i have both HO and N Scale with the latter bein set up at this point
however, there is another scale that i am really trying to get into and that is the 1 1/2 Scale 7 3/4 gauge ridable trains the problem is the fact that they cost alot of money. You have got to have at least 5 grand to even think about getting into it i mean geez, a small electric loco and a riding car cost $2000- 2500 alone!! if you want a gasoline powered unit yout lookin at $4000 and up from railsystems in oregon. I love this scale because instead of just watching your trains go around , your actually riding on board the train driving it as you go along the track. on it your the Engineer, brakeman and conductor all in one no other model scale can match that! oh well i’ll stick with my N Scale till then
Regards
Larry
I agree, that scale is awesome. But the $$$ you have to spend! You’d be talking more than the $4000.00 you mentioned if you wanted a live steamer (that’d be me [;)])
HEY!!! you left out S scale and Sn3 and Sn2. You can’t have a poll and leave out the “Supurb” scale.
My favorite is S. Second is Sn2.
Enjoy

I (almost) always worked with HO scale, but I’ve been a little curious about O scale lately, perhaps I would scratchbuild a car, a structure, a steam engine, who knows.

[:p]I model HO but like to see many different scales
I kind of like G scale as well. I have always adored
railroads that can run in a garden. Real pretty when you
can mix real nature with a model.

HO is without a doubt, the best scale cause of its cross of mechnical, detailing, cost, and availibility. The cost of most items aren’t so off the chart people can’t afford it. Mechanical parts are farely easy to work with. And we can pack a bunch of detailing on and still have operating models.
Being the scale forum I would say N than after that I have O Hi Rail --getting into Garden ( so now - living in the frosty northeast )- G scale gives me a reason
to build an outdoor layout.
I’ve dabbled in n scale, and scratchbuilt in O, but my preferred modeling scale is HO. However, if money and time were no object, I still prefer to play with 1:1 trains! [:D]
my favorite is HO. N seems to small to me to work with and to little detail and O is to big for what i have. so my favorite is HO.
I started with HO.
I’ve modeled N.
but i’ve stayed with HO.

I agree with Aggro jones, I am currently building a 16 x 12 around the room layout in HO.
Also creating a web site for it…
sorry about that, I’m an HO scaler and don’t always remember every single scale, good luck with the “Supurb” scale though!!
All I model is HO and I’ve never regretted it.

HO
I’ve just started an HO layout (5x8) after an absence of 40 years. My dad had an HO setup in the 50’s but he sold it all way back when. So I’m trying to start over. I’m thinking of modeling the 1940s to 1960s (CN and CPR).
Large Scale Narrow Gauge was my vote.
What I’m doing is technically “H” scale I think NMRA has decreed it to be (1:24 or 1/2" scale, 3’-6" guage).
I model in HO for my home layout and N scale for my Ntrak modules. If I had unlimited time, space and money, I’d model in O or larger, so long as I could model big steam during the late 1940s!
