Go Rocky! GN for me as long as it is pre- Blue. I model thru the Cascades '47 to '50.
UP for me. ATSF and SP are the 2nd and 3rd cars in the consist.
I agree completely.
John, we share an interest, although I have extended my era to
include 1947 to 1967-the day that the GN replaced an all-time
classic color scheme with that modernistic mess called Big Sky
Blue. I am between layouts, but my interest is the west end of
the Cascade Division centered around Everett, Wa.-as far as
a layout theme is concerned-all of the GN and Stevens Pass
otherwise.
GN-Rick, I like the picture of the GN diesel!
Colorado Midland…
Western Pacific is my choice. Class one but still was easy going… I model the entire line from Oakland to Salt Lake. Mile post “o” was in San Francisco and used barges but this did not work well on my railroad so we took it out.

Northwestern Pacific, I think, although the California Western has an appealing smell to it.
My favorite western railroad is the Central of Georgia. Hey, it’s west of the Atlantic ocean. He he.
I said Union Pacific, because of their turbines, and big steam locomotives.
