Can anybody tell me how hard it is to repair the binding posts on a ZW transformer? I don’t know if they are just loose or broken off entirely, they spin around when you try to tighten a wire around them rather than grabbing on as you tighten the nut.

Several folks carry replacement posts. They are not too difficult to replace.
Assuming we are talking about a vintage vs modern reissue, you can get to the posts by simply removing the ZW top cover.
Original posts are staked and the replacements use a screw stud (6-32 I believe).
The post is loose because the staked portion has worked loose. To attempt to restake it would require removal of the transformer.
Your biggest problem is to remove the existing loose terminal which will require filing it down from the rear until enough of the staked portion is removed to slip it through the Bakelite case. Be very careful as you do not want to crack the Bakelite.
Depending upon which terminal it is will determine if you have to at least remove the rectifier also.
The new terminal goes in from the outside and you either use the existing ground strip or wire terminal on the back side - securing it with a 6-32 nut and star washer. You can either hold the terminal on the outside using pliers while tightening with a small wrench (ignition wrench for us old guys) or you can double nut the outside terminal to use a wrench on the outside also.

I’ve used 6-32 machine screws with star washers on both sides of the case, a hex nut on the outside, then screw the terminal nut on as normal. If you use a pair of flat washers between the hex nut and the terminal nut it will hold wires more easily. If you use ring terminals on your wires the washers are not necessary. Most of the ones I have repaired have become loose because the staked part of the terminal has cracked and come loose. Most of them have almost fallen out.

Like Jim, I have replaced transformer terminals simply with machine screws, with a hex nut on the outside.
I have replaced on one of my transformer using banana plugs. Makes it easier to remember which wire go to which post if you are connected to DCS. Use red and black banana plugs. It is a bit of a job, so be careful when you do this replacement.
