I attended Manhattan College and Graduated in 1979 as a Civil Engineer. I started in O gauge and switched to HO scale. I am currently working on my New York, Westchester and Bronx River Railway. I am focusing on the areas around Woodlawn Junction where the New Haven Railroad parted from the New York Central. The area had lots of action as the New Haven Catenary started at this point and headed East as the New York Central continued North on 3rd rail DC Power. Two other railroads of interest where the Putnam Division of the NYC and the New York, Westchester and Boston that ran alongside the and was a subsidiary of the New Haven built in 1916. The NYW&B ran AC Stillwell cars and costs a Million dollars a mile to maintain a flat elevation. When it was abandoned in the 1930’s the parts of the railroad inside New York City were purchased and became the Dyre Ave. Subway line ( The No.5 Lexington Express) and continues to this day. My wife Peggy and I work on building a freelanced version based on these railroads and our fictitious NY,W&BRRW. Taking the best parts of the 1930’s through the1970’s. We use a LENZ DCC system and have a lot of projects on the drawing board.
