Angeleño from Los Angeles area, 60’s land of SP, ATSF, & UP to IL in '99 - N scale dreamer - Got Atlas N scale train Dec '69, got back in 2000 wanting to make a layout & run ATSF trains passenger & SP cattle stock cars for feed lot at Puente Ave & Valley Blvd. Never saw live mainline steam in 50’s, except Griffith Park or Knott’s Berry Farm, Buena Park, did see RS-1 or RS series SP in '53, Highland Park and ATSF/SP Diamond nearby, Los Angeles near Arroyo Seco Parkway, SP F3-F7A/B sets at Puente cattle feedlot next to Valley Blvd. lived next to ATSF line across driveway in Arcadia, CA '70. Got 1st train, 027 Marx at 9, Lionel (2 yrs later) GE 44 ton-like, but bigger, saw that at Ft. Madison, Iowa a few yrs ago.
Want to do San Gabriel Valley area SP & ATSF layout. 10’x10’ space available, (+ 2.5’ for room & closet doors), 3 walls, less desk 2’x5’ area, walk-in with lift-out 2.5’x1’ section (at walk-in opening).
Was Senior Electronic Technican RF/FM, IT product support tech for online sales, tech writer, illustrator, .moved to North Central IL 95 miles (West along I-80 corridor area) from Chicago. Was full time Repair Tech/Tech Supervisor at US Pioneer Electronics, part time college student, business major, 9 units (or more) 3 to 4 nights a week, Pasadena City College, El Camino College, Torrance, for 5 years, at Pioneer, 16 years as Technical Service Manager, Hitachi Sales Corp of America, fixing problem units then teaching & training techs, tech writng, pioneering sales of Hitachi VCRs, Video cameras, computer monitors,& CD-ROM drives, until market changed '94.
Worked as Tech Support for AT&T Worldnet, Arri 35mm/16mm film cameras, for Mitsubishi as a temp 97-99, with imaging printers for medical, etc.
