I retired from the ole “SP” RR 2002, started in 1960. Well I had to tear down the other lay out because we moved to another house, same area. Still snows and rains. No more chef work, just model trains. Joined a local club, 30 miles from here, a very small one. Started to build a new layout, free lance. Worked on plans for a while. So far it is two levels high. 12 inches from level one to level two with a 26 foot helix, approx. that is oval instead of round. Two hidden mains with two sidings and the uphill helix, that is the branch line main. Above that is the mountainous yard and industries that support logging and gravel operations with various other spots to put cars. I’ve learned a bunch since I first started with the digital train operations. The size of the room is 14x15. The grid work for about half is finished and some of the track is layed and wired. The second level is build with 2x2 on top of the grid work below. This is all done in a modular fashion. Even the 2nd level. More later.
