I’m one of those guys who grew up in the 60’s taking trains out of Grand Central Station to Chicago & Boston to see family. Very positive and fun experiences that stick with me today. I’ve dabbled in trains as my kids were growing up. Always and still today around the tree. Well more specifically…now around the house! Mostly HO, but could never get either of the ikids interested with the advent of much faster and technologically savy alternatives. However I always wanted to get deeper into the hobby.

After alot of reading and watching ebay & U-Tube I made some decisions. I love the size and feel of G-gauge. Now that’s a train! And I love the compact nature of N-gauge. So years ago I started collecting them and after we move I am going to set up a Garden Railway. Yes…the building, care and storing of the railway is one of the features we will be looking at in a new place.

So as I continue my quest to learn I ran across this site. I still consider myself a newbee because I have not actually designed and built a permanent trainscape.

I am please to have stumbled into this wealth of knowledge and look forward to receiving first and then as I gain experience and comfort paying back to other lovers of trains.
