1920s-era locomotive backshop

Anybody know where I might find blueprints/plans for a typical structure? I’m assembling a small roundhouse from a kit which can fit this era and I’d like to modify it (open up the rear) for access to a backshop.

is this what you are looking for ?

Lets see if this works.

Mike and J.C.,

Thanks for the link to HAER…good idea! I’d heard of it, but thought it was photos only. I’ll see if I can massage the resolution to make the dimensions easier to read. Also may be able to use the accompanying text pages to find dimensions.

download the drawings in TIFF format , there much sharper then.

Here are LOTS of drawing from the BN, most from preceding railroads. You might find something there;

If you can track down the 1930 Locomotive Cyclopodia (not as daunting a thought as it might seem; Newton K. Gregg issued a full reprint around 1985 that you see at swap meets from time to time) it has a full chapter, just under 200 pages, with floor plans on Locomotive Shops and Engine Terminals. Good info, pics and text. Special emphasis on all the tools needed in such a shop.
