8 Pin DCC Sound Decoder

I was just wondering if a 8 pin DCC sound decoder exists that is just plug in, no soldering required.

One option is the SoundTraxx Tsunami TSU-2200. Just use a JST9->8 pin harness. I have used this system on a couple locomotives.

With that being said you still need to figure out where to add a speaker (or 2). And adding a Keep Alive is also important with sound locomotives.

I have also done several of these conversions using TCS Wow Steam or Diesel

As with the SoundTraxx, just use a JST9->8 Pin harness.

One wolf, the OP is looking for a nonsolder, plug in decoder like today’s 21 pin plug ins. Though your recommendation would work it requires some soldering of the harness to the decoder.

The 9pin JST → 8pin NMRA harness plugs directly into the 9pin JST port on the decoders. No soldering required. However connecting speaker(s) and keep alive require connecting (could be soldered) wires.

Onewolf, my bad! Not the first time I’ve wrong about something!
