UP 2668 (SD40M-2)
Union Pacific 2668 was built in December 1966, originally as Atlantic Coast Line (ACL) 1025, builders no. 31841, model SD45. In May 1976, it became Seaboard Coast Line (SCL) 2001, in January 1983, it became Seaboard System (SBD) 2001. In 1984, it was renumbered as SBD 8901, in April 1986, it became CSX 8901. CSX retired the locomotive and sold it to VMV Enterprises (VMVX), it was rebuilt by Morrison–Knudsen Corporation on July 9, 1994, emerging as SP 8592, model SD40M-2, SP Class EF630LK-2. It was assigned the number UP 4614, but would become UP 2668 on September 10, 2001, retired on July 8, 2010, sold to the Huron and Eastern Railroad (HESR) in May 2012, renumbered to HESR 3485 in 2017.
Note: This locomotive was reportedly mandated to be scrapped as part of the G&W’s EPA scandal, but as a substitute locomotive.
UP 2695 (SD40M-2)
Union Pacific 2695 was built in July 1971, originally as BN 6520, model SD45, builders no. 37128. It was retired in February 1986 and sold to National Railway Equipment Company (NREX) in January 1988. It sold to Morrison–Knudsen Corporation (MKCX) and became MKCX 9531. It was rebuilt on January 19, 1995, emerging as SP 8619, model SD40M-2, SP Class EF630LK-2. It was assigned the number UP 4645, but would become UP 2695 on August 24, 2001. Retired on October 12, 2010, sold to the NREX, sold to Webb Asset Management (WAMX) and renumbered to 4234 in 2019. Still in service as of 2025.
