A matter of the greatest urgency

I won’t go into details, but I desperately need contact information for anyone who is an employee of CP. This could be a matter of life or death in this weather!

I tried calling Los Angeles Rams Guy, who is a CP employee in Minneapolis. We met up last year and I still have his phone numbers from then. No luck in reaching him, though.

The emergency telephone # on CPR’s website is listed as 1-800-716-9132 . Call that.

Not quite that much urgency =)

If “greatest urgency” and “a matter of life and death” don’t warrant calling CPR’s emergency number, then I don’t know what does.

Next time, choose your words more wisely.

Many of us over the age of approximately 50 will remember the old children’s story about the little boy who cried “Wolf” and cried it so many times that everybody stopped listening to him and then the REAL wolf ate him but nobody came to his rescue as they thought his latest cry for help was another bunch of B.S. - well, this sounds like just such a scenario to me.

EXTREME URGENCY…LIFE OR DEATH…OH, NEVER MIND, IT’S NOT THAT BAD AFTER ALL!

He did say COULD.

Hmmm… why don’t you try calling the nearest CP yard office, or division point office?

Answer to the last post:

I don’t think a yard office would care about a railfan freezing to death in a snowbank while waiting for the next westbound.

If someone is in trouble call the local police.

When I saw the title, I thought this was going to be something about transferring money from Nigeria.

Hey, love helping people, and I should be getting my money on Monday. Merry Christmas to me!!!

Seriously, Just kidding…

Nigerian railfan freezing in a snowbank waiting for the money train.

If that’s the case, neither would I.

If it is because you are a railfan and want to get a picture at some place in the snow and don’t want to camp there, why should any railroad or railroader care? If you went out to take a picture and got stranded or lost, then, yes, it is urgent and a matter of life or death. But just to know when a train might come, you spread the rumor that all railfans are indeed foamers. Or is there an order from Calgary or Winnepeg that such and such a picture has to be taken for the board room or calendar?

Yeah, don’t start a thread off like that if it’s not really important. People are really trying to help out here.

I’m waiting with bated breath to find out what was SO urgent but it wasn’t THAT urgent. And, also if it reaches a successful conclusion.

The frozen railfan will be put on permanent display at the new museum dedicated to those fellow railfans who made the ultimate sacrifice for our hobby. It is being sponsored by CPR.

No, not Canadian Pacific RR, but Citizens for Protection of Railfans. They are also using the occasion to promote their new emergency hotline 1-800-ICE-PICK.[}:)][:D]

Sorry, folks ! I couldn’t resist. I’ve got a cold, and I about laughed/coughed myself silly over this thread. I have been needing a good laugh! Thanks, guys !![:P]

OK, Move along, nothing to see here, nothing of any urgency what so ever, just a foamer without a clue, now move along …

Does a frozen railfan still wave? [:-^]
