A modern version of the New York Central

I just found this website, about a group that is building a modern version of the NYCS. With modern locomotives painted in the two tone grey NYC. It’s pretty neat, they even have a complete history of it also.

Check it out here http://www.nycsystem.com/index.html

As a New York Central fan and modeler, I wish it were so. However, I would probably still prefer the steam and early diesel. [(-D]

A few years back one of the N Scale specific mags ran a spread on a 21st Century Milwaukee Road.

Very nice try. Modern boxcars and hoppers in NYC scheme looks good too.

A number of years ago I was planning that my layout would represent the Pere Marquette, if it had remained separate of the C&O into the 1960s and 1970s. I painted up a few pieces of equipment, but eventually followed the draw of going back to the steam era.

Here is one of the GP7s I painted for a 1970s version.

I don’t think that I have any photos of the GP30 or GP40 that I painted.

An example of alternate history at it’s finest.

Since that’s what I do on my own road (although not as drastically), I wholeheartedly approve!

Very nice work, and a good concept design for the motive power.

That’s neat! Thanks for sharing!
