I have 2 questions
-
What company makes the AAR control stand.
-
What are the other types of control stands.
Thank you

Gee - I keep taking first crack at these…
The AAR control stand is a standard - “everybody” makes it. Odds are you’ll find it in every modern locomotive except - those with “desktop” control stand. I believe only GE uses the desktop, but I could be wrong.
There are older control stands, most of which were unique to the manufacturer.
EMD and GE both have desktop type controll stands as well as AAR control stands for wide body locomotives…
with the power i have been exposed to (late 60s to today) the main control stands you see are the AAR (which is standered layout for all the controlls) EMD…which is almost like an AAR execpt insted of 2 differnt contol handles for the throttle and dynamic brake…they shere the same handle but have a “selector switch” to go between power and dynamic brakeing fuctions… and the desktops…

I do not like the desk top controll, if I am getting held for long periods of time they make it hard to get relaxed without tieing yourself up in a knot being I run the junk trains I get held for hours on end do to yards not wanting to get me in untill the last minute.
