All I really want to do is glue my engineer down to his seat. It really doesn’t look right to have him standing on his head while the train is in motion.
But the exploded parts diagram that came with my RS-3 gives me no help-- I’ve removed every removable screw from the underside of the chassis, and nothing budges–

I could sure use a little help.

Hugh I have the seem RS-3 with the seem problem. Does anyone knows the sollution ??
I found this tip sheet:
http://www.girr.org/girr/tips/tips2/rs3_tips.html
Scroll down to the bottom of the page, and there are instructions for disassembling the RS-3. It seems I was on the right track, but I met resistance trying to pull the hoods off after taking the screws out, so I stopped, worrying that I would do some damage. I haven’t tried it yet, but I’ll let you know how it goes.
Ta da:
George Scheyer’s instructions were all I needed. After all the screws are out-- just tug gently on the hoods and cabs-- they’ll come loose. After that it was simple.
Now I’ve got it all back together, though, I can’t find one of my mini-phillips screwdrivers. I don’t hear anything rattling when I pick up the loco, so I guess that’s a good sign
