Actron Automotive Code Scanners

Hey guys

I’m about to buy a code reader/scanner, tired of bringing the truck to AutoZone or other places to read my codes.

I’m looking at the Actron 9135 and the 9145. The 9145 can be used to read codes from old cars and trucks … pre 1996 …OBDI… with optional cables. And, the 9145 can scan “manufacturer specific” codes, not just the generic codes.

Actron claims that the “specific” codes often get sent to thier cheaper 9135 unit, anyway.

Anyone have any experience with the 9135 and specific codes?

The 9145 can also scan the output of sensors real time as the engine runs.

Any thoughts? Both units can read pending codes ( when you have a mild problem that has not set off the “check engine” light yet), like a light load miss.

BTW … Amazon sells Actron at 33% off list, with free shipping.

Thanks
Jim

I think this topic is on the wrong board!

whoa … wrong forum for sure! I was switching back and forth between here and a Ford pickup truck forum.

My wife has been making those frozen drinks in a blender all day as we do “fall cleaning.” Guess the rum is starting to get to me. Never had so much fun cleaning!

Sorry I can’t delete this thread from the board.
