I installed a MRC EMD 645 in a Bachmann GP40 removing the DCC light board.The motor comes already isolated.With a sound bug you still need a decoder for the locomotive to run.

MRC decoders don’t have the best reliability record . David B

I’ve been getting them for years.I have never had any problems with them.Im sure in time their reliability will only get better.

I did a recent install of a Tsunami in a new Bachmann RS-3. I thought the original Bachmann decoder was noisy and not that smooth running, so I would recommend replacing it.
