What sort of adhesives do you use to mount the pink or blue foam to a hollow core door?
I use silicone caulk, spread it thin, also wood glue works.
Oooh, oooh, another hollow core wood door layout? Welcome to the HCWDMTLBA (Hollow Core Wood Door Model Train Layout Builders Assn).
I used Liquid Nails for Projects. Regular Liquid nails is a foam eater.

I used Elmers or home depot brand yellowish color wood glue. I laid my collection of train magazines on top until it dried, Dave
I pretty much used Elmers carpenter’s glue for everything. Foam to Wood bench, Cork to foam (pinned down), then track to cork using pins and soup cans to weight it down.
Any of the non solvent based Liquid Nails, carpenter’s glue or my preference “ceramic tile cement”. On very large contact surface areas, like the hollow core door or laminating sheets of foam, The mastic or Liquid Nail should be spread with a notched trowel. The air trapped within the bond will give better initial tack speed drying. Whatever adhesive you choose, weighting the foam for at least a couple of days is required. If you use a thin foam 1" or less place something flat, like another door or good flat ply or boards, before placing the weight(paint cans, books, lumber, etc.) This will ensure a good flat surface and eliminate any edge curling or lifting
