since i am new to the hobby, i need to know what town/state my santa fe diesel highhood, ran through, what wre some of the things/structures that were in it, i was thinking that it ran throughnew mexico that is what my dad said, we started working on this layout together, i was thinking of using the new river mining company from walthers, but i am still a little scepticle. so please i need advice![:(]
I remember, when I lived in El Paso in the late 60’s, Santa Fe ran high hoods there and into New Mexico.
The Santa Fe was a Far Flung System that Ran from Chicago Illinois, To Los Angalas, and to Houstion TX. You found the Santa Fe in Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California. I was also told by some one that they had a branch line to Des Moin Iowa. But I can not conform that.
James.
The Santa Fe definitely ran through New Mexico.
For Santa Fe info, try the historical society:

that website was a little informative, but i need to know about were it ran through alot in the 1950’s. and should i use the new river mining company as you know the base of all the structures? and is a powerpack a controller?
The list of states I posted is a list of where Santa Fe’s Main lines ran. These lines saw heavy traffic and are still used by BNSF today.
James
i don’t get it.
Do a Google search for ATSF Map.

A power pack controls your railroad. The power pack acts as a controller, and controls your trains (It really controls the rails, which controls your trains).
What do you mean “Base of all structures”? Are you asking whether to use it as a centerpiece and the focus of your layout? Or are you asking something else?
