Airbrush Hookup Question

I have a Paasche airbru***hat I want to hook up to my Porter Cable air compressor. The compressor has a (standard) 3/8" ID connection (and hose) with Quick Disconnect ends. I’d be looking for a similar quick disconnect adapter that would go from the compressor (or hose) to the airbrush hose. Any ideas on where I might look? I’ve already checked the Paasche and P-C sites for adapters, but didn’t see any that would work.

Thanks for any ideas!

Check your local hardware store. I got some quick connect adapters for my compressor, which came with one for the included brad nailer. These adapters are industrial/home supplies and not hobby items.

I got an airbrush adapter from my LHS, goes from the small fine thread hose that came with my airbru***o the standard industry compresser size and thread. I think it was about $10. I then picked up a quick disconnect set from my local auto parts store and was all set. Just make sure you have a regulator between the compressor and your airbrush - too high a pressure can blow your hose off the airbrush (doesn’t spray too well either). If you don’t have one, get a moisture/oil seperator and install in the line. This will keep your spray from spitting and messing up your paint job.

I was trying to find a link to Granberry, the fitting people, and found this link instead. I hope they can help you out.

I put in an in -line moisture trap / regulator that would fit a quick connect between the regulator and the hose on the compressor side and the airbru***o the outlet of the regulator…(the airbrush is attached at the end of the hose to the regulator as one unit) …works pretty good…chuck

Similar to csclark, I hard piped a section to a moisture trap along with a quick connect, then a reducer valve to fine tune the air pressure. quick connect on the end of this assembly. Then used a lenth of small coiled air hose to a section of straight line to the brush. Works well and this setup is attached to my shop air compressor. Same one I use for roofing.
All of the parts I got at Lowe’s. Most of these types of stores stock air hose parts etc in there tool sections now.

is this what you’re looking for ?
Micromark hose adapter

lowes has alot of compressor adapters and parts.

I bought one for my Badger airbrush at my LHS, paid $5.69 canadian. Its a 1/4 inch compressor adaptor made by Tayer & Chandler. It should work for the Paasche airbrushes as well.

if you bought it from george’s trains in toronto you’re the reason they didn’t have them in stock when i went looking for one today [:(!]
