I have a set of green pullmans(heavyweights)WITH SILHOUETTES that I received sometime in the beginning of 1956.Is there anybody that can give me any info on these. They were bought in South Africa.Thanks.
I found it interesting to hear that these were bought in South Africa. I don’t imagine many American Flyer trains made all the way there. Well, you have some very excellent cars there. These were made from 1953-58. The values in US dollars are as follows:
952: $50 good, $240 excellent
953: $55 good, $235 excellent
954: $105 good, $240 excellent
I find it unusual that you say they are green with silhouettes. The Greenberg American Flyer price guide gives values for green or tuscan cars without silhouettes and for tuscan cars with silhouettes, but not green with silhouettes. The values I gave were for tuscan with silhouettes, which are higher.
Thanks sask tinplater for the info.these cars are def.green with silhuoettesbut it seems that a lot of items that came to South Arica differed from the states.I have a set with the 346 loco (5545w)and the baggage and club car in this set is green.
