The recent “American Flyer Guys” thread got me to thinking. I’m a Lionel collector, but some years ago – more than I care to count – I acquired some AF equipment that someone had decided to “upgrade.” The locomotive is a die-cast Hudson that’s been badly repainted, but that’s a separate question.
The part that I intend to tackle first is the cars. I’ve got eight or ten original postwar AF freight cars that are in beautiful undamaged shape, with the exception of the trucks. These have had the couplers cut off and Kadee HO couplers substituted.
Now that I’m retired and have the time, I’d like to start returning the whole thing to original configuration. Can someone recommend a source for American Flyer freight trucks?

I’m no American Flyer guy by any means, but I’m sure it would be better, and easier, to just replace them with modern trucks. I know of a few manufactures that make them:
