Amtrak Olympia Lacey Station

I just saw on the Amtrak Olympia Station Railcam-Webcam in Washington state an interesting engine setup. The first engine was a Genesis, the second an F40-PH, and third, a Genisis. Why is it setup that way?

I don’t think Amtrak still has any F40s that aren’t turned into baggage or cab cars, is that what you saw?

Could it be the cab-tenna car from the GMA train returning to a shop in that area for conversion to a cabbage for Amtrak Cascades Service? Maybe it was a Cascades cabbage headed to a shop…

It was an F40. I looked it up on the internet and it was that engine.

What was the Unit #?

I’m sorry, I don’t know the number of the engine.

Sorry it was an F40PHI. My mistake.

Say wrawroacx, I see your “handle” a lot on this forum all of a sudden…do you care to tell us all a little bit about yourself? If you don’t care to, that’s perfectly OK, but I for one am curious about a person who suddenly appears with such frequency. Thanks

I don’t want to tell what state or town I live in but I do love trains. Most of the time I railfan once or twice a month in Berea Ohio. I like any kind of modern power and some steam to. I like modern power because it’s very interesting and looks very muscle. I like BNSF and CSX. I love model railroading. I’m into O gauge trains. I love lionel but not MTH unless it’s something special. My favorite engine is an SD70ACe or SD70M-2. My second favorite is an ES44DC or AC. That’s pretty much it. Trains are in my blood and always will be. P.S. I ask freqent questions because some parts of the railroad I don’t know. Like what the number of the engine or part for an engine or car. But I know the diesal type, if close to modern, how much horsepower it has, most know some the horns but not all. My favorite horn a K5LLA horn on the SD70ACe or SD70M-2 and the ES44 horn is K5HL horn. That’s it for me. Good Bye.
