Amtrak Photo Archive

I figured since I posted the Passenger Car Photo Index that I should go ahead and post the Amtrak site too.

Great site!

What was the previous link please? Can’t find it via “search”.

Also… why did Amtrak want cabooses…MoW? or?

Thanks

Nice stuff

If you are asking about the Pax Car Photo Index, here it is. And you are correct about Amtrak’s cabooses (cabeese??). Thay use them for MOW service.

Thanks!

Does that mean that they (and any other MoW equipment) would have been restricted to their own NE Corridor track? … and, maybe, their yards?

Thanks for the link, My Acela has just arrived, so it’s nice to see the real one.

Ken.

Yep. They only maintain their own right of way. Otherwise the host railroad maintains the ROW. I am not sure, but I would imagine a lot of MOW is contracted out nowadays.

Glad to see they got the site up finally. Been waiting for them to get it straigtened out for nearly two years.

I use it quite a bit for the pics of the hi-level and heritage equipment. I did not realize there were any problems with the site. I definately hope there aren’t. I would hate to lose it. The folks who put this together did/do a great job!!

There was a time you would come to the site and get a message that the site was “Under Renovation” and every link you would try would come up with an error message. That seems fixed now. I got tired of waiting so I stopped visiting by about 8 months ago. Glad it is back in operation now.

That is some cool Amtrak stuff!
