Amtrak turbotrains

My nephew recently spotted an Amtrak turbotrain in an auto junkyard in Linton, Indiana. Says it’s in bad shape. I’d sure like to rescue it, but I am wondering if any rail groups/museums have restored any of these units?

Judging from their looks, perhaps there’s one at an air & space museums? [;)] That would be neat to see in a museum.[:)]

Is that one or the original UA turbos tries by CN/VIA?

I don’t think it’s a UA Turbo, maybe a Rohr ? I have been to the junkyard and with the owners permission played with the controls on it. Engine is missing. Joe

The car in Junkyard is a powercar of the French built ANF turbo’s.
Its been there for probably over 15 year.

Pardon my lack of knowledge here, what does an Amtrak Turbo Train look like?

I believe the second (middle) link in the message directly above is the one the thread originator saw in the scrap yard.

It’s not the same photo, but I believe it’s the same trainset. I saw the photo after my nephew called me and I found a different shot of it at:
