When I was a kid, I found some videos on the internet about the New River Gorge, I found one about an old abandoned railway bridge in WV. I thought you guys would like it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28TSASQha7w

There, I fixed it!
It seems remarkably intact. What road was this? Why abandoned?
If it’s New River Gorge, it’s probably C&O. It would be a former mining branch up in the hollers (no bridges over the New River itself are abandoned), but I couldn’t understand the location he gave.
There was nobody else within a mile of this guy…except for the orchestra that was backing him up!
An interesting and atmospheric video of WVa, especially to someone on the eastern side of the Atlantic.
I was puzzled, however, by the inclusion of the steam locomotive at the end of the video. It appears to be Milwaukee Road 261. What connection, if any, would it have had with West Virginia?
I have no idea, I just got the video from an old site I used to go to
I may be partly mistaken, but I believe that the MILW RR #261 was the locomotive that pulled the New River Gorge (WV) Excusrion Train in the Fall of 1994.
Which might account for their being a brief cameo of her working in the New River Gorge video(?)
[Corrections and Amplifications would be appreciated ] Thanks!
The video is very cheesy but the old bridge is awesome! I have a post similar to that about an old bridge where I live.
