An MR quick look: HO scale weathered boxcars

These are an exceptionally nice car! The level of detailing is superb. Lets hope Athearn does more of these.

good job guys!!!

I like them, the weathering adds more realism to the cars and to a model railroad, hopefully they continue production of them and do more than just boxcars. Excellent job!!!

These cars look perfect for 1980s to modern Layouts. Though the I would buy the non-weathered 60’ Gunderson Hi-cube boxcars because i have not seen many prototype versions of that car as weathered and gimy as Athearn has made the model.

What? No Graffiti?

Sure. I think is a good job. Unfortunately, in Europe, not every model railroader likes to weather the models. Several do not put on the particular items the contructor let as “kit”. They said the trains loose value!!!

I must admit these cars look really good but i cant see paying almost $28.00 each for them. Besides, that’s part of the fun, weathering your cars, and assembling the kits.I’m thrifty when it comes to the hobby and can’t afford such pricey merchandise.I’ll say it again though, nice job, they look great.

Yes they look good nice work Athearn

Whatever happened to the craftsman in our hobby. I realize that most sales for hobby stores these days are of the “put on the layout as fast as you can” variety, but I would prefer to do the detailing myself. These cars look fine, but I still prefer the old school way of doing things.

Being a modeler of the MoPac and also on the road selling building materials 5 days a week covering most of central ILLINOIS, time sometimes becomes quite valuable. I see this as a positive step for many modelers.“GOOD JOB”

Well we all know that this is where the hobby is going Kit building is almost gone.Know if we can just get them to make other road names that would be great.I have a couple of these they look real good, of course I had to add to them. Good job Athearn.

I have both, weathered&plain 60 footers berwick & gunderson NS plus TBOX wthed. They are a tribute to hobby.
