An overview of the Cypress Canyon Railroad

That is very nice lay out, Great Job Steve

Steve you have done a real nice job. All in the space of a short number of years. But like me you will never be satisfied with it. Six years on I’m still building trestles and extending. Good Luck.

An excellent video clip of your railroad. It is the kind of railroad that I would like to have, if I had the garden for it. I am still in a so called garage (layout room added to the house) modeling HOn3 D&RGW. I do have a “G” scale Shay, Heisler and 2 x 4-6-0 locomotives as well as some rolling stock. Maybe one day…

Great layout!!! That’s what I like a working fun layout outside!

This Dennis and Dennis Hopper are pleased. When I started collecting and building MODEL railroads I decided to collect all scales.I didn’t realise how costly that would be but I now have all the scales except the odd ones like TT and some narrow gauges.Garden railroading has become a passion that I sense you’re experiencing. Last year a messy
divorce after 41yrs diminished my real estate dramatically.I plan to build a garden railway, half in my patio and the other half winding through my herb garden (rosemary,thyme,mint,lavender,basil.parsley.) I can eat my clippings.I have LGB,Bachman Big Hauler frieght cars and union pacific passenger cars. The entire space I have to do this is 20x6 ft area.Wish me luck.Your litle empire looks superb. The plantings are perfect choices.I live in central Florida with plenty of Bonsai tree shops around me. Keep on a chuggin that Shay

Excellent! would like to convert over to G from HO some day.Just retired from Railroad with 32 years engine service.Keep up the good work.

NICE NICE NICE , Keep up the good work.

Nice to see a Garden RR that doesn’t just go around in circles.

Wish I had something as good! Great Job !!

Steve, what an awsome job! A reat legacy for your children & grndchildren. Congratulations!

I loved this and would love it in my back yard. One Day!!!

Very nice! But, what is it with the whistle in the video?? Everytime the loco came into view, the whistle sounded… Otherwise, what a great layout. Just the right size. I also have a struggle with backyard space with my wife. My grandkids also love my layout. My youngest grandson has the BUG. He is nine and has lots of HO equipment. He can quote roadnames, loco model numbers and a whole lot of stats to his friend, an actual loco engineer on the commuter rail south of Boston. Keep up the great work Steve…

Fantastic Steve!
I am an O Guage guy but your video is so motivational I am thinking about this now!!!
Thanks for sharing,
Bob Beck

Great job Steve! Maybe someday I will have a nice layout like yours.

Wow, great job Steve. A very nice layout. Out here in South Africa we found that our summer sun is too harsh for the “off the shelf “plastic models. I decided to build a few structures that would stand up to our environment. Two of the models I built, a 75 ton Coaling Tower and a Sanding Depot. Both models are from the same era as your layout and I think that they would make a perfect addition. I obtained the desighs from Brewer Designs. Best regards.

I marvel at the detail and care you model railroaders give to the world. I wish I had that dedication and desire to build as you do. I can only dream about it and my old Lionels (1943) nestled under my bed as a kid. Those of you with grandkids are especially rich and have a rewarding legacy to pass onto them.

A great layout with a beautiful blend of railroad and plants. Now thats the difference between ‘dreaming’ and ‘doing’ Congratulations!

nice piece on a well done railroad…and “easy goin” Steve does a good job for the hobby… so lets just go and “play with our trains” where ever we are its still a good time…

Excellent layout Steve with your explanation of the concepts. Just starting my G scale garden. You’ve provided me with some great ideas for my system. Thanks…

GREAT, GREAT, GREAT, A MAN WITH A PASSION FOR REAL RAILROADING…
