...And you thought Hitler only had Marklin...

That clip’s been going around the 'net for months. It’s screamingly funny, but it’s not the only version.

There’s one where Hitler hears that Boeing is delaying delivery of the 787, one where Hitler’s complaining about getting a parking ticket in Tel Aviv. There’s one where Hitler rants on about all the Hitler parodies going around. There’s even one where Hitler wants to jump on the Hitler parody bandwagon.

Andre

That’s not even the only “Hitler and DCC” parody. But this one has the priceless line at the end “I miss the Espee.” What rant would be complete without a closing line like that.

I won’t lie: I nealy fell out of my chair while watching that one…

It was definitly made by a real MRRer though. If some one “off the street” would have made it it wouldn’t have gone into so much detail. Good for laughs…

Those are a real hoot for sure. Apparently there are 100’s of these, and the director of the film Downfall that the original clip comes from is fine with them, he sees them as logical extensions of the purpose of the film. See here for more info on the movie and the parodies: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Downfall_(film)

There’s another couple that caught my eye - ‘Hitler Hates DCC’ (large scale) and ‘Hitler has problems with MSTS’

From what I’ve read there are 197 of these floating around at last count. I’d love to see one where Hitler is ranting about the prevalence of RTR, the lack of steam in N scale or MTH/Mike Wolfe in general .

Come to think of it, a rant about the overabundance of large steam engines and/or multiple versions of Big Boy would no doubt be good for a chuckle.

Months? I watched it over a year ago. It’s still a hoot!

Maybe I lack a certain sense of humor, or maybe it is because I come from a family who had to suffer quite a lot from the terror this maniac poured over Europe, but I don´t think, this video is funny. In the end this guy´s doings caused the death of 50 million people - certainly nothing to joke about.

I have to agree with Ulrich, not really all that funny.

Sheldon

I just watched one version this week where he’s ranting about Purdue basketball!

And yes, my father was a WWII vet and there remains a good measure of sensitivity on the issue, but even so sometimes you just gotta laugh at the clever parody.

You guys need to lighten up and get a sense of humor. It is ridiculing him. My wife thought it was hilarious and she is presently compiling a history of her family and how it was destroyed in the Holocaust.

Harold

This sort of explains just who buys all the latest stuff, tons of brass, DCC, pre-weatherd cars etc. etc. etc. sort of leaves us people without piles of money to our hobby on a limited budget. MY, MY, Herr Schicklgruber had a bad temper eh?

hi,

for some it may be fun, for others it ain’t fun at all.

But if some one can’t see the fun, never ever say he has no sense of humor or he should take it lightly. Just keep for once your mouth shut!

Paul

I totally agree with Harold!

This same question came up during the run of the old Hogan’s Heroes T.V. show. It was quickly put to rest when it was learned that the actor who played LeBeau, Robert Clary, was a survivor of Buchenwald.

-George

Actually, a number of the main characters were of Jewish descent:

  • Werner Klemperer (Klink)
  • John Banner (Schultz)
  • Leon Askin (Burkhalter)
  • Robert Clary (LeBeau)
  • Howard Caine (Hochstetter)

And all but Caine fled the Germans during WWII. Clary (LeBeau) spent 3 years in a concentration camp and bore the camp “tatoo” on his arm.

I also read that Werner Klemperer (Klink) would only perform the role of Col. Klink IF “Hogan always w[o]n over his Nazi captors.”

With that said, please be mindful that this topic is almost always a sensitive one to some forum members and we should be very careful about posting things related to it - even if they are done in parody.

Let’s move on. Thanks.
