This past Christmas and Winter, I received and collected a full Lionel passenger train with a 248, two 529s, and a 530 passenger car.[:D]
Since the 529/530 and 629/630 passenger cars use the same body, I decided to renumber the cars and paint the full set red, cream, and black. Considering the cars are only worth $10 to $15 each, I didn’t really feel bad about it. And now, here it is all restored and shiny![:D]
Being a native Noo Yawka I especially appreciate the Park Avenue Pantographs - which are the right size to reach the under-running third rail (on the tunnel roof) of the Grand Central Puzzle Palace, where there are vast gaps in the normal (under-running outside) third rail. Those things always confused the Pennsy fans.
Thanks a lot everyone![:D] Here’s a couple more shots with the lights off…or um…on…or, wait…
No reverse unit or neutral setting in the 248, so I had to stall it to get the shot.[B)] Even though these cars never included lighting, I think it adds a little something to them.[:)] I have a tendency to like things that light up.[:)]
