A few weeks ago I noted a Bing train station from the 1910 era. Here’s a Marklin in outstanding condition, including old candle wax from the candles used to illuminate it! I marvel at these relics - their age, construction, history - Check it out - and if your bank account permits make a bid!
By the time the bidding gets done on that station. I 'd probably have to take out a sizable mortgage to buy it! [:O] It’s a beautiful piece of lithography though. I’ll look forward to seeing the final bid. Thank’s for sharing it.
Gorgeous! Absolutely gorgeous! What I wouldn’t do have one of those! As I’ve said before, nobody made better stations than the prewar German manufacturers. It wil be interesting to see what it goes for. There’s 9 days left now, so the bidding will definitely increase a lot in that time.
Yep, not bad, the seller did a good job… It’s a really early one though. I guess it’s around 1900, since Märklin used electric lights as soon as they started to build electric trains… This one is from the age of lifesteam and clockwork trains and is lit by candles… And it has american text on it, which is very rare!
