Another Polar Express?

I walked into Toys-r-us last night & right in front of me was a Polar Express set I hadn’t seen before. It was a complete wooden set, Thomas compatable, from Imaginarium.

I guess the Polar Express is for everyone now, no matter what scale you run!

Neat. I like to see the extension of the PolEx ‘brand.’ I wonder about the future of some of his wooden toy brethern. I spent an hour waiting for Santa in a small toy store in our downtown - this place used to be full of wooden Thomas - now had only Brio. Some of their sets - European diesels and electrics - were pretty clever. The owner said the recalls have killed the brand.

I remember buying a copy of the Polar Express DVD last year. It was packaged with a PE snow globe and a 2 piece wooden engine and tender that was Brio compatable. Didn’t know there was a fill set…Kewl!

I have the Brio set of the Polar Express. My mom got it for me last year for Christmas since I grew up with the book and always wanted a Brio train but she could never afford. Now here I am, 222 at the time, and I get Brio trains for Christmas. Its better then when I was a kid!

My kids have a wooden Lionel El Capitan set that matches the 3 rail set they have.

After I read some books to him, my 3 year-old Grandson got it into his head that he wanted a “Little Engine That Could” train for Christmas (he already has the Lionel “O” PE). The only one I could find was a Brio-sized wooden one, on-line for $20, which I ordered. A plush toy is the only other version. Joe
