another question

I saw an ad in a magazine today for a 5 car Caterpillar train in HO. It is only $69.00, and was wondering if anybody knows whad brand it would be? It says it has a DCC ready loco. I am supecting it is an Atherns. It should be worth the money don’t you think? Mike

it sounds like athearn to me. For $70 I would say thats a good deal, definently worth the money if you want it.

If it was any good it would also say what kind it was I suspect. Unless it was a personal ad.

I’ve seen those kind of ads for the specialty train sets. Take a closer look. How many payments of $69 dollars is it?

some time back norscot who produces cat equiptment in all the various scales had a set out. if i remember right they contacted athearn or walthers to produce a set for them, but walthers had listed this set for over $100

this was lister for 200.00 but is on clearence. It is in a sale catalog called Northern Tool & Equipment, out ot Burnsville. MN Mike

Hey Mike, I have dealt with Northern for plumbing tools and they are very reliable.
For whatever thats worth.

That was a train set with Norscot as the brand and the HO equipment on the car is Norscot, the good stuff not what you get at Wal-Mart…but the rest of the train equipment I’m pretty sure is Model Power, but the box doesn’t actually say. Who knows what type of track is inside. Good deal for 69.00 though, I would think. Looks like the Model Power metal series of trains. Has “roadbed” track.
