I am looking for Ho background downloads of buildings that I could print off and mount on a board that I could place behind my buildings. Yes I know that I can buy these, but was wondering if their are any sites that would let you copy some background??
Any help would be Great.
Happy New Year!!

Try Google images, and then use a photo program or other software to create your own…?
Andrew
I asked the same question differently awhile back and basically you are on your own. the Google search in images has worked the best for me using serach words like “factory, industry, industrial, business, etc.”. The biggest problem is the persepctive of the picture. Not many are square and 90 degrees from a side which can casue some problems. Most of the photo manipulation programs allow you to do amazing thing to add or subtract from the photo or picture. An example: I sang the National Anthem at Comiskey Park last summer in front of 18,000 people. I made the picture look like it was SRO for our group by putting people in all the seats. I also bought a photo quality picture that is far superior to a regular color printer when printing the for backdrop purposes. The photo paper comes ina variety of glosses and a matte finish bright white paper seems to work best for me.
Sorry about the typos in that message. I guess I’m getting tired. Make that a Photo quality printer I bought![:)]
Worst thing about web searching is wading through all the unusable photos: low resolution, any perspective other than eye-level angle, or subject too specific - how many Sears tower shots can you use anyway. Why not, on your next excursion, take a cheap box camera, shoot some generic skyline shots, take the prints to Kinkos and experiment with color copies to get right size for your layout. At least you get what you want.
Here’s one website with some nice shots and links, still hit or miss…

Awesome panoramas, but I don’t think they print out

do you have a digital camera?
or know someone that has one?
go out and take some pics?
or have someone who has one take some for you.
hope this helps

http://backdrops4models.com/PRODUCTS.htm try here click on your region always click on larger image save and print with alittle effort you can piece the wcenes together.
My digital camera will take panorama shots. The software that came with it “knits” the shots together. Many digital cameras will do the same thing. Taken at a high resolution, they can be blown up to quite a large size.
I took some pictures of buildings and posted them in Yahoo. You might be able to use some of them.

Nice backdrops. Can be expensive but they have some with minor “flaws” and offer them at a cheap price. Check it out and let us know if it’s worakble for you.
