I asked this about 6 months ago when I was going on a business trip. I got no replies. There are one or two listed in the local phone book. There’s a Hobby Lobby, but that’s next to useless. The last couple of trips down, I’ve found some of those die-cast metal cars in 1:87 at Wal-Mart.
Joey, how far is your shop from Huntsville?
Wess Savage runs a hobby shop located in a caboose, I believe by the depot. Its called Mossberg Valley Hobby Shop. I think he’s trains only. Sorry I don’t have the address.
Joey probably hasn’t seen this yet. He probably does have the address.
Your best bet will probably be RC Hobbies on Meridian Street.
I can get ahold of some airplane kits in HO scale. Give me a call…be happy to help, if I can.
Thanks
Wes

My daughter lives out east of Cullman and a couple of years back we went up to tour the famous Huntsville Depot; until I read this post I had forgotten that there was a hobby shop there on the depot grounds; it did handle a few (non-model railroad scale) die-cast automobiles if I remember right but it was almost exclusively trains and HO at that. Being an N-Scaler I did try to find Rio Grande Hobbies - I had met the owner when he was still located in Alamagordo, New Mexico some years before - his shop turned out to be quite aways away from where we were at and we didn’t have the time to linger too long before heading back to Cullman. It’s a good thing I didn’t try to find his hobby shop because I subsequently found out that he had already sold out to that guy in Owensboro, Kentucky and I would have been off on a wild-goose chase - when I got back here to the far, far reaches of the wild, wild west I discovered that his ad had disappeared from N-Scale magazine some issues before - at least with his Huntsville address.
Later that same afternoon I did attempt to locate a hobby shop in the west/southwest area of town but he had already closed up for the day when we finally located it.
Last summer I ran down Crumps Camera in Decatur; I served with a guy in the Air Force who talked about that place but they no longer do any serious train business.
Go to see ya here Wes. Glad you provided this info-I lost your card.
