Hey Fellow O-gaugers,
I have a 2025 engine, and I just put in the hardware on the side of the locomotive. I believe it’s in correctly. However, on the side where the
piece slides forward and backward, it’s operates the smoke lever.
Somethings wrong. It moves the lever, but then meets a ton of resistance, as if the level hits something on the inside, or the arm is too long, and it
tries to move the smoke level too far. What’s wrong?
Turns out the smoke cyclinder was crusted with old smoke pellet residue, preventing the inner cylinder from moving to the top… I got a smoke conversion kit from Dr. Tinker, put it in, clean everything out, and now works like a champ!!
Ah good old #2025! A Lionel PRR 2-6-2 that I ran into the ground as a kid. Designed for usage on either 027 or O gauge track. Sold mine along with all my Lionel several years back but a good choice in my opinion.
easiest thing i know to fix any kind of hardware is a big hammer…and if that didnt fix it… try a bigger one… and if you brake it while trying to fix it…use some ductape on it…that fixs eveything
remember…if the women dont find you hansome…they should atleast find you handy (red green show)
