I was wondering, is KATO soon gonna be announcing any new models for HO scale? ie. SD40s, or some big brutes.

There has been a lot of talk about KATO’s future HO offering on many train forums. I know for a fact that SD70M’s w/ Flared Radiators and Phase II Cab’s are coming. There has also been talk of new SD40-2’s(Just like the new N-Scale ones they announced), another run of AC4400CW’s(like the N-Scale ones), and possibly another run of F40PH’s.
Their next announment should come this summer.

Would another company buy KATO USA division out?
If I was a busines man, I would best quality and highest praise on the market. Maybe Walthers will go after them or a another big company?
As for new models, where did you hear about those models that you listed?
Mostly from the Atlas forum. There was actually a large topic about KATO a few days ago.

The answer is no. There is nothing new on the horizon from Kato in HO.
Only rumors of new products
Shermanhill1, I know for a fact that Kato will be coming out with SD70M’s. A rep at the IHobby Expo last October told me so.

Yeah alot fo the rumors are self generated. Until they are really made they are rumors or vapor. If I had a dollar for every trade show rumor that never was made I would own my own island.
