Just wondering if anybody is heading that way this weekend 13-14. Its being held at the Monroeville, PA Convention Center.
It comes to Wilmington, MA, on the 20th and 21st. I’ll be going to that one.
I always like this one. There are a lot of operating layouts. I usually get a few odds and ends, and sometimes I find some well-worn hulk in a box under a table, but mostly I go just for the entertainment.
I plan on attending, and hopefully finding a bargain or two.
I’ll be there. Just not sure which day.
Tom
Sorry RObby, I was looking forward to maybe seeing you there. and maybe if you were set up to do so, to do a RR car for me, or buying one from you.Not this show. MAybe if you do it again at another show sometime?
But we have no money now [:'(]{we already spent on xmas for Santa} and we are going to go to the Amherst Rail Society one in Springfield MA at teh end of January '11. It is closer and we should have some $ by then.
However, the Best Of Luck to you for a fine turnout, a whole sell out, and a good day for you![swg]
Not a big fan of Greenburg Train Shows. The good news is that they have a lot of running modular layouts. The bad news is there is not that much for “scale” modelers. There seems to be a lot of O scale and Lionel. Now this may be something that occurs only in the Winston-Salem, NC area, but it has occurred several years in a row.
The Greenberg show in Massachusetts has a lot of O and S, also. And, you’ve got to avoid the Power Rangers and action figures tables, too. But, there are still a lot of HO and N dealers. It’s a big show, in a big building.
I model HO only, but I walk slowly past the O-gauge tables. A long time ago, in a train room far, far away, I had a big Lionel layout. Every time I see a model that I used to own, I get a little smile on my face. For me, anyway, there’s more to a train show than just hunting for bargains.
