Anyone from the Green Bay area?

Hello. Just wondering if anyone knows the timetables for the CN freights in the area. I’d like to do some photographing, and would like to know the optimal times and locations. Could I contact CN directly, or is this info held closely since 9/11? Any info would be appreciated!!

A better locale would be anywhere from Fond du Lac to Neenah for CN activity. There are some good locations in Oshkosh where you can get close to the ROW legally.

I live in Oshkosh and go fanning typically between Appleton/Neenah and FDL. PM me if you have questions.

While it may seen uneventful to call CN and ask about their trains, I’ve gotten quite a bit of help from them.

Late last year, I was going through Stevens Point, and a train was crossing over the overpass. All of the sudden, there was a caboose on the back end. I was able to call CN’s office in St. Point, and ask them about it. They were so nice, and they were able to run a trace of all the WC/AC cabooses for me. Unfortunetly, we never figuired out what we saw. Anyone got any idea? It looked like a Point St. Charles caboose, and it was all red…

I called the UP yard office in Adams in the morning hours one time when they aren’t busy, and I told them that I am interiested in learning the names of the trains, and was wondering if there was someone there who could tell me what the symbols mean. We sat on the phone for over an hour, and he told me about the trains, such as the MBUVP which I always saw, and about the locals which I never understood.

May seem stupid, but what the heck; why not?
