Anyone know about microscopicmodelshop.com online Model Hobby Shop?

I did an internet search for a Bachmann track cleaning car. Every site that was listed was in the $30 to $40 price range. Except for microscopicmodelshop.com which had it for $10. I clicked on their website and they are selling everything at unbelievable prices. For example, a two pack of Walthers Proto GP35 DCC with sound for $92 !!!
According to GROK and other internet searches they have no history and no reviews, good or bad, and GROK and other internet searches recommend not to use microscopicmodelshop.com

When I tried to go to that website my Norton blocked it as not safe.

I didn’t get that, but it does look suspicious…

Take one for the team and let us know how much you end up being out

My computer blocked that site as unsafe also.

Anything “too good to be true” probably is.

Grok may be right but i would trust the humans at the BBB more than him or his AI internet friends.

I am curious did Grok find this place for you when you did your search then say whoa hang on a minute.

DuckDuckGo got me to the (http://microscopicmodelshop.com/) site and McAfee did not block it. The site looks legit with pictures and details of everything they sell; however I will not go back as some on this post have said Norton blocked it as not safe.

The BBB has no information on this company or internet site.

A quick Google search turned up this.

Based on recent Trustpilot reviews, the site

microksm.shop (often referred to as microscopicmodelshop) is highly suspicious, with customers reporting it as a potential scam. Numerous users reported paying for products like wax jackets and receiving only a “best wishes” card.

Key Findings:

  • Suspicious Activity: Multiple users reported receiving empty envelopes or cards instead of ordered goods, with some stating the website disappeared shortly after.
  • Poor Communication: Reviewers indicated that emails to the company were ignored or met with stalling tactics.
  • Do Not Purchase: Based on reviews from late 2025, it is strongly advised to avoid this site.

Note: Be careful not to confuse this with the legitimate site minimodelshop.com, which has mixed but generally more positive service reviews.

???

who knows what else they were selling

The whole deal sounds immensely suspicious.

I certainly would not buy from them. It does appear to be a website set up to separate people from their money.

And likely without uniting them to a product!

These sites are usually more careful than that. They will send “something” – but it will be of little practical value. Several years ago, what you would receive was a cheap battery ‘train set’ (perhaps worse) and the customer-servicing ‘department’ would try to claim that what they sent wasn’t what you were saying you received. Apparently this particular site seems to be sending cards or some other form of correspondence; I don’t propose to be the goat who ‘takes one for the team’ to see exactly how the thing plays out. I note they gave an almost-blanket 70% discount on construction material, too.

And I’m too broke to try it either, even for just a (supposedly) $8 two-pack of hoppers,

With prices that ridiculously low, it smells fishy and isn’t worth the gamble.
