Anyone know of any good LHS's in Ottawa, ON?

I’m headed to Ottawa, ON on business for a week on Sunday and I hope to find one or two LHS’s. So if you can recommend any thing good I’d appreciate it.

I’ll also be checking the magazines as well.

Haven’t been to Ottawa for quite some years, but do recall Hobby House on Vanier Blvd? They were primarily into model airplanes and armour but did carry some train stuff. Maybe look them up on the web. I travelled occasionally to Ottawa on business when I was working, but that was mostly before I was into trains much.

Hobby House, 80 Montreal Road, about 100 meters west of Vanier Parkway, on the south side. Turn south on a one-way street called Palace Street to access their parking. They have locos, rolling stock, Woodland Scenics, and structures. Selection is modest. Prices are a bit high. Knowledgeable and friendly.

If you want a much greater selection, suggest you take a 45-minute drive to the town of Merrickville and see Lark Spur Lines. Take the Queensway (417) to Hwy 416 South. Exit on Route 43, pass through Kemptville, and keep going. When you get to Merrickville you’ll be on Main Street. Turn left on St. Lawrence and they are at 230 St. Lawrence on the right hand side, across from a Drummond’s gas station.

Cheers, and have fun.

Thanks Guys

Unfortunately the trip has been postponed but I did call Hobby House and got their hrs of operation. Didn’t know about Lark Spur Line and if I get a chance I’ll check it out if able to.

Thanks for posting
