Anyone one else here from Halifax, Nova Scotia?

I was wondering if there were any other modelers, RR fans here from Halifax, NS? Let me know!

Cheers!

Windsor Junction, Where’s that?..[:D]

Hey Crazy Diamond there’s three of us here. Der5997, Luct and myself. We hang out in the shadows of the Coffee Shop where everyone’s welcome.

Siberiamo has even paid me a visit

Will you be at the Dartmouth show this weekend?

Fergie

PS I live in Dartmouth just before Cole Harbour

Windsor junction, is that near windsor? I went tehre earlier this year, and saw the Windsor and Hantsport RS-23s! A month later they were retired! With the same Ex CN GP9Rs that I saw…
Matthew

No, there isn’t and what’s a “Nova Scotia”??

I took a trip to Nova Scotia a few years ago, beutifful place!!! I envy you!!![:D]

I lived there for two years (Lower Sackville). Halifax is the best kept secret on the east coast.

Oh, agreed, I loved it when I went there. It looks like a great town, great countryside, second only in Canada to the rocky mountains!
Matthew

Fergmiester, yes I will be there this weekend. Is it just Saturday, or Sunday too, and what time do the doors open and close?

Trainman 285, I live in Lower Sackville, and yes Halifax is an awesome city!!

Trainboy H16-44, Windor Junction is only about a 5-10 minute drive from Lower Sackville (from my house [:D] ), or about 20 minutes from Halifax. It is an old junction that many years ago was a very busy spot. I think my first model will be based on that junction. Its still somewhat busy today, and is a great spot to watch trains.

Fergmiester, do you have some sort of time table or schedule that you and the others have figured out, when is a good time to go over to Windsor Junction?

Crazy Diamond, I lived on a Cul-de-Sac, Rosebank Drive. Went to a few shows while there and belonged to the local N-Trak club- Metro N-Scalers.

hoping to visit Halifax in the next couple of years (and if you’re ever coming to BC, we should do a holiday house swap…)
I received a postcard from there once - you’re in good company there

I spent christmas in NS several years ago. Went scuba diving in Jan up there. A bit nippy. They thought I was a nut case leaving sunny Florida in jan to go diving in NS. Beautiful country. Very friendly folks. And everyone seems to brew their own beer. How great is that!
Terry

Right, it’s the junction with the windsor line?

Geez, Fergie left me out. I’m hurt [:P]

I work in Halifax and live in East Hants. Was at the Dartmouth show for a bit on Saturday afternoon.

And yes, Windsor Junction is the junction between the CN Bedford Sub and the WIndsor & Hantsport (ex-DAR) line to Windsor. The wye there is usually used to turn the consist of VIA train 14 - the eastbound Ocean for departure the next day as train 15. Another spot used for this purpose has been the “balloon track” around the Halterm container pier in the south end of the city.

BentnoseWillie, do you model RR as well? What scale are you running?

I model in HO scale, mainly CBNS.

CBNS?

Do you mean CB&CNS? 'Cause that’s a good one!

CBNS is the reporting mark for Cape Breton and Central Nova Scotia Railway - also called the CB&CNS. It’s the former CN Hopewell, Oxford and Sydney subdivisions.

Sorry Dubya! It’s been a long time since I’ve seen your smiling face in these parts. Do you know Willis over in the ModelRailroadforums site? He also models CBNS and has several really nice Locos sporting the Green CBNS livery.
