Anyone remember Columbia Depot?

I seem to recall the the SS Limited model of Columbia Depot (below) was based on an article by John ?? (right, I can’t remember his last name – can anyone help?)

Nope, wasn’t the master of Monterey. I believe this John worked for Disney, and was known for his whimsical layouts.

You may be thinking of John Olson. He has several articles in the Index of Magazines at the top of this page that refer to structures, but none mention the Columbia Depot specifically.
