Does anyone have any experience with the Caboose Industries ground throws with contacts? Especially the N scale 224s? I’ve been using Caboose Industries ground throws on my little layout, but I’m finally deciding to power my frogs and was hoping to simply switch over to the throws with DPDTs built in rather than needing to deal with anything else. If anyone has any thoughts on them, I’d love to hear them before I make a purchase lol!
I used the 220S ground throws on my previous HO layout and they worked great with my Fast Tracks turnouts.

Our round robin club installed them on onevof the members layouts so we could wire the layout for the single track version of my adavanced cab control. The cobtrol system uses turnout position to route teack power.
They worked great. Occasionally one or two were fussy to assemble, but we got them all, working well. The system operated well for near 20 years, and my still be working fine.
The layout owner passed away but my understanding is his family still majntains the layout.

I have a few of the 220s on my HO layout and they have worked well for several years. They are a little fiddly to assemble the contacts but once you do one or two they go well and are very solid.
Thanks all, sounds good! Looks like I’ll be adding some to my White Rose cart and making a purchase when I get home from work!
How long are the contacts? Can I mount on my new layout that is 2" foam? Or do I need to solder the wires on first?
Hi Gary,
IIRC, the metal contacts on the 220S’ are about 1" long so you’ll need to solder the wires on first before installing them. And I used either a 3/8" or 1/2" OD thru hole as a clearance hole for the contacts.

Ok thanks good to know.
