can anyone give me some information on the Arkansas-Oklahoma Railroad co. I have seen some AOK Auto-Max cars and an Ex-C&NW hopper with AOK reporting marks. but I know nothing of railroad, how and when it was formed ( looks like it runs on Ex-Fort Smith & Western trackage ) , and what it’s locomotives look like ? I would especialy like a link to sites that photos of AOK locos. any help would be appriciated.
From what I know is that the AOK has black locos with a red logo. Most AOK locos are grey with green trim and Arkansas and Oklahoma writin on the side. Most of AOK locos are hand-me-downs and theres no tell what they coud be.
Hope you find what you are looking for.
Train Boy,
As emdgp92 noted in a posting on the Aliquipa, there are some photos of AOK rolling stock at the Fallen Flags site. The URL is: http://www.rr-fallenflags.org/misc-a/misc-a.html Hope this helps.

trainboy, A-Ok runs on ex RI tracks Howe, OK to Haywood, west of McAlester. Interchange with UP at McA. State of Oklahoma owns most of trackage, UP the rest. Does some local switching in McA for UP
Saw two of their locomotives in Shawnee at noon today, beautiful red, with yellow highlights. They are dash-7s. If they are still around next time, I’ll get some photos. They were at a station that appeared to be some sort of small office/facility for AOk.
I took some pictures of AOk today, 10/23/03. The engines are B23-7’s. They have two in Shawnee and 2 in OKC. I don’t know what else, if any, they have. I have posted photos of the Shawnee pair on our family website, photos page #2. www.geocities.com/gdbigler@swbell.net
