APRIL Coffee Pot. Serving delicious popiah lumpia SPRING rolls, lemony SPRING grits, and strawberry quinoa SPRING salad. Kicking off 19 years!

Sometimes that doesn’t help anyway. I’ve lost track of the news stories I’ve read where drug “mules” get caught because of stupid driving mistakes on their part such as:

Speeding, illegal lane changes, not signaling turns, driving the wrong way on a one-way street, burned out lights, and other traffic violations that are instant invitations for the police to pull you over.

Man, if I were them I’d make sure all the lights worked and I’d drive like an old lady on the way to church! But then again the mug shots of these idiots tell you they’re not exactly candidates for a MENSA membership!

Hmmm… thieves who:

Are six weiners short of a pack?

Are three dogs short of a pound?

Eat the buns even when they’re blue?

Don’t realize that if you tell a hot dog vendor to hold the mustard it doesn’t mean he’ll HOLD the mustard. [swg]

Hi all, been chasing all over and taking care of the pup who had surgery yesterday. She got fixed, had a dewclaw removed, got her Kennel cough shot and a chip. Knocked her down hard for about 30 hours but she is picking up.

My [2c] Kias and some other off shore cars are being stolen because they are easy to steal. An easy hack, anyone can watch on youtube or TicToc and you can drive them away. I hear State Farm and other Ins co. will not insure them here till the makers fix the issue. If they do insure them BOY get ready to lay out the $$$$$$$. Crimes of opportunity are always out there. They see one they jump on it. [soapbox]

Best get.

Mornin’ guys and gals. Overcast and 64 along the Patterson Creek cut-off. Ms. Kelly returning home this evening, so my bachelor days are now down to hours. I’ve been living like Oscar, but now I’m scurrying around like Felix trying to tidy up.

Here is this week’s project, which involved tearing out a section of Blue juniper, and planting creeping flox, then “frosting” the entire finished hillside with mulch.

Of course I was trying for this, but baby-steps, I s’pose…

We took a trip to New Orleans last week with the high school robotics team I mentor for a competition. We were successful, too. The team won the competition. They are currently rated 23rd out of about 3200 teams worldwide. In a couple of weeks, we will be headed to Houston to compete in the world championships.

My wife and I took a couple of days to drive home on a route that largely avoided the interstates. Took the two lane highway that crosses the east end of Lake Ponchitrain. The highway runs parallel to the railroad across the lake on low piling type bridges. At the shipping channel, the train crosses on a lift bridge, and the highway gains some altitude up to a draw bridge.

Many of the small towns we drove through had a business district that ran down one side of the highway. Railroad tracks ran parallel to the road through some towns, and there was evidence of a railroad grade parallel to the road in other towns.

Happy Good Friday, peeps! Cloudy and 52 in the Potomac Highlands. Wifey is back in Fifedom, and all is in order again. The fam is headed out to see some kind of Dino exhibit, in Morgantown. I’m staying behind on dog duty, but I did clean, detail, and fuel the Durango for their journey…

HAPPY EAS

Hope you and all your families have a greater EASTER !!

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!

HOPPY EASTER!

Mornin’ guys and gals. Sunny but chilly along the Patterson Creek cut-off. Grandmom watching toddler over at Middle Princess’s castle. I will take her some breakfast after while, and then help with the lad.

Had a nice Easter meal, and egg hunt, at Fifedom yesterday. Toddler enjoyed playing with FifeMax, and wanted to see the Train Room for a little bit. Have to hold him, because he likes to grab and throw everything he gets his hands on. But did give a kiss to Fifepops before he went home. Got one from Youngest Princess too, before she drove back to campus. She only has two more weeks.

Aloha. Happy Wednesday. Another gorgeous day in this part of Illinois. Sunny, warm - may hit 80! That is wonderful as next week looks like it won’t get out of the 40s. Just a normal spring. Highlight of yesterday was taking the dogs out for a walk after work and helping find a puppy that got out of his house. Made a quick pasta with red sauce for dinner. Hope to get a walk in today too!

Mornin’ guys and gals. Sunny and pleasant in the Potomac Highlands. Spent yesterday gardening, and planting another row of flox on our steep hillside. Sprained my left thumb in the process.

Wifey wants to go clothes shopping today, as this her birthday “week.”

Uh oh. I’m guessing Good Will isn’t an option then? [G] [;)]

JCPenny, pennytrains.[(-D]

Just LOOKING in,

not much new, just wondering when we will pay for these last few days in the mid 80s?

Sounds like soon enough. Been doing yard stuff and trying to keep Agnes mellow to heal up. She was doing very good, till 6 days in and she decided to pull off her wrap over the dewclaw removal and lick the stiches right out. [:(!][:(!]

So that put a damper on things but other than that she is about herself again. Still no playing ball or running nuts alowed.

Wife is flower shopping with the daughter today so just me and mutly hanging out at Deadwood Acres on the North Bluff above Marsellies.

Be good!

It isn’t my birthday or anything but I’m going shopping at the Salvation Army Store tomorrow. [;)]

Supposed to hit Cleveland on Sunday so I’m guessing Illinois will get the cold blast half a day ahead of us.

Been 60’s and 70’s here in mid Mo. the last few days. Supposed to rain tomorrow and drop into the 50’s.

This will kind of put a damper on progress on my front porch roofprogress. Getting close. A few more facia boards to go up, then I’ll be ready to put the decking down and get the roofing contractor here to put the membrane material on.

Mornin’ guys and gals. Damp and 64 along the Patterson Creek cut-off. We need the rain, and I just sat out the potted plants for watering. Had intended on attending the train show at Martinsburg Roundhouse, but just don’t feel like going it alone. I’ll have to wait for the Sharpsburg show at the end of the month. Cheerios with blueberries for breakfast.

We went hiking on the GAP yesterday, and Middle Princess and grandtoddler came along. Then we ruined our effort with ice cream right after… Ms Kelly wanted Cracker Barrell for dinner, but the food was uncharacteristicly lousy last night. Woof.
